Easter Events 2008 in Bukit Batok - Holy Saturday
Holy Saturday
The past Easter in BB has always put a special focus on the Saturday before the Easter Sunday. This year, however, due to the short distance between the last event of Christmas and the Ash Wednesday, which was only 5 weeks apart, the Easter comm could not come up with something too ambitious. No drama, no musical, no nothing...
But wait a minute, that does not mean that we don't have anything good. We tried a rather different approach, a quiet, solemn, saturday for reflection on Christ and the Cross, on our sins. We held this event in the multipurpose hall, where the floor is covered with carpet, the ceiling lights were dimmed, and candlelights were given to give the room a different atmosphere, perfect for reflection.

During the entire session, preacher lead us to meditate the word of God using the Lectio Divina method, a method used previously by Origen, the early church father. It is different, maybe strange, but if practiced, we may be able to hear closely to what God wants us to do.
